Universal Cleaning Codes for Upholstery

DC (Dry Clean Only): Professional dry cleaning is required.

E (Leather Care): Use a specialized leather care kit.
 
- 
N (Leather Care): Use a specialized leather care kit.
 
- 
N FBR (Natural Fiber Rugs):
Blot spills immediately with a clean white cloth or plain paper towel. Clean with a solution of:- 
1 teaspoon mild detergent
 - 
1 teaspoon white vinegar
mixed in 1 quart of warm water.
Do not saturate. 
 -

S (Solvent Clean):
Clean only with a dry-cleaning solvent. Avoid water.- 
Pile fabrics may need brushing to restore appearance.
 - 
Cushion covers should not be removed or dry-cleaned separately.

SW (Solvent or Water-Based Cleaning):
Spot clean with upholstery shampoo, foam from mild detergent, or a mild dry-cleaning solvent.- 
Do not saturate.
 - 
Pile fabrics may need brushing.

W (Water-Based Cleaning):
Clean with water-based shampoo or foam upholstery cleaner. Avoid using solvents.- 
Do not over-wet.

WS (Solvent or Water-Based Cleaning):
Use upholstery shampoo, foam from mild detergent, or a dry-cleaning solvent.-

X (Vacuum or Light Brushing Only):
Do not use water or solvent-based cleaners. Clean with vacuuming or light brushing only.
